Today at Stepanakert Komitas Music School, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the school was celebrated.
Stepanakert Komitas Music School has been operating for 80 years
He noted that the school was founded in 1938.
“We have 587 pupils. The school building was built in 2015. There are piano, string, wind and percussion, theory, vocal-choir classes.
The Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of Artsakh Republic, Lernik Hovhannisyan congratulated the attendees of the event and noted that Stepanakert Komitas Music School is of great importance for cultural education.
According to the minister, the school must correspond with the name of the great composer Komitas.
Stepanakert Mayor, Suren Grigoryan, said that for eight decades the school has educated pupils, some of them continued and continue their education in musical institutions. They play a great role in Armenian culture.
"We must preserve, enrich the cultural, spiritual and material values created by our ancestors and transmit to future generations,’’ noted Grigoryan.
The Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of Artsakh Republic Lernik Hovhannisyan, Stepanakert Mayor Suren Grigoryan and Director of the music school, Arthur Petrosyan awarded a group of teachers with diplomas, letters of appreciation and monetary prizes.
