The Armenian peacekeeping troops will carry out mission in the military settlement of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. As ''Artsakhpress'' reports the Commander of the Armenian peacekeeping detachment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Major-General Arthur Simonyan informed Armenpress that instead of one of the military stations of the district of Mazar-i-Sharif, the Armenian troops will continue their mission in Kabul. “It is intended to hand over the Camp Mike Spann of Mazar-i-Sharif to the Afghans in March and after those processes 56 peacekeepers will continue their mission in one of the military camps of Kabul”, - said Arthur Simonyan, stating that the Armenian troops will provide for the security of the military station.

Since February 2010 the Armenian peacekeeping detachment was included in the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan under the command of the Federal Republic of Germany and continued the implementation of the security task at the Kunduz Airport. Then the detachment was expanded and was sent to Mazar-i-Sharif. Before Afghanistan the Armenian troops underwent 3-4-week training in Germany.

The Armenian peacekeepers carry out mission also in Kosovo and concerning the including of the Armenian detachment in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) negotiations are currently held with the Italian Defense Ministry and the UN on the structure of the detachment, location, issues, technical supply and other issues. Since 2012 one officer of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia has been included in the UN observation mission in Lebanon.
