In an open competition, in memory of the famous writer, historian, journalist and scriptwriter V. Guzanova, journalists, editors and editorial teams were present. The competition was held on the initiative of the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Union of Journalists of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering-Economic Institute, editors of the regional newspapers “Zemlya nizhegorodskaya”, "Ponedelnik" and "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

The jury consisting of the Chairman of the Union of Journalists of the Nizhny Novgorod region O. Noskova, rector of Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering-Economic Institute A. Shamin, chief editor of the newspaper "Zemlya nizhegorodskaya" E. Belyaeva, chief editor of the newspaper "Ponedelnik" V. Mayorov, Director of the branch of "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" A. Sysoev highly evaluated Ashot Beglaryan’s essays and stories on Karabakh war and its heroes.

Ashot Beglaryan was awarded a diploma of the first degree and a commemorative medal after Guzanova at the ceremony held in the assembly room of the Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering-Economic Institute. In his speech, Ashot Beglaryan presented the history of Nagorno Karabakh, spoke about the heroic participation of Karabakh in the Great Patriotic War and celebration traditions on May 9 in Artsakh. He presented his books as well as CDs and the souvenir symbolizing Artsakh "We and Our Mountains" to Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering-Economic Institute.

Ashot Beglaryan is a professional journalist and writer, member of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Republic of Armenia, winner and laureate of Russian and Ukrainian literature and journalism competitions.

“I have a very positive impression of the trip and of the participation in the competition, which was organized at a high level. The rector of Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering-Economic Institute hopes to develop ties with universities in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, in particular with Artsakh State University, with  which a cooperation agreement was recently signed in Stepanakert”,- in an interview with Artsakhpress said Ashot Beglaryan.
