STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 4, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: Due to bad weather heavy vehicles and trailer trucks are temporarily banned from traveling the road, the Armenian Automobile Road Administration said in a news release.
It added that all republican and interstate roads in Armenia are open for traffic as of 09:00.
“The Armenian Automobile Road Administration is advising motorists to use exclusively winter tires to avoid accidents and traffic congestions”.
The Stepantsminda-Lars road is the only land connection between Armenia and Russia, which runs through Georgia. Stepantsminda is a small town in north-eastern Georgia. The road is used for both passenger and cargo transportations and is of major significance. Vehicles pass through the Verkhni (Upper) Lars customs checkpoint into Russia.
