'Komitas' Choir gave concert in Stepanakert

On the joint initiative of the “Nairi” All-Armenian Charitable Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Artsakh, on September 24 the concert of the “Komitas” Choir of the Armenian Youth Union of California, USA took place in Stepanakert Culture and Youth Palace.

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 24,  ARTSAKHPRESS: The concert was held within the framework of  "Komitas' 150th anniversary.

The Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, Lernik Hovhannisyan said that as a part of the events dedicated to the 150th birthday anniversary of renowned Armenian composer Komitas, another great program is planned from September 30 to October 2.
The choirs of the Republic of Armenia will visit Artsakh and will give concerts not only in Stepanakert but also in Gandzasar
In an interview with “Artsakhpress”, Mikael Avetisyan, the conductor of “Komitas Choir said: “The choir is in Artsakh for the first time. 20 years ago I moved to America and continued my professional career. I have been working with the “Komitas” Choir of the Armenian Youth Union of California for the past 6 years.

We have performed many concerts not only in the cities of America but also in the Motherland. This time we visited Artsakh and we are very happy because we wanted to be here to see this sacred land. I am impressed by this heroic nation and beautiful generation. I feel proud to see the developed culture of Artsakh, ”he said.
