The medal podiums of the 32nd Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be created of plastic waste and plastic bottles collected from Japan and the shores of the Pacific Ocean, the Armenian National Olympic Commitee's press service reported.

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 18, ARTSAKHPRESS: The Tokyo 2020 organizers say 40 tons of plastic waste will be needed for 100 medal podiums. Over 2000 collecting boxes for used plastics will be installed in the Japanese stores in the near future.
The Tokyo 2020 Executive Committee has already approved the project.
The Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo from July 24 to August 9, 2020. More than 12.000 athletes will perform in 33 sports.
