On 31 May, the Székelys football team, a participant of the 2019 CONIFA European Football Cup, was welcomed near the monument of “We Are Our Mountains” in Stepanakert.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 31, ARTSAKHPRESS: As “Artsakhpress” reports, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh Michael Hambardzumyan, ConiFA volunteers greeted the team with traditional bread and salt, dhol and zurna music, the traditional zhengyalov hats.
The Artsakh Aya and Apa (Aya means great grandmother and Apa- grandfather) welcomed the guests and blessed.
The head coach of the Székelys football team, Joseph Gazda, told us that it is his first visit to Artsakh.
“We have been impressed with mountainous forests . The people of Artsakh are friendly. I haven’t had much information about Artsakh. I have learnt about Artsakh only via the Internet. I am aware of Karabakh conflict, but I must say that everything is peaceful here.
It is our fifth participation in the ConiFA European Championship. I hope that thousands of football fans will gather and we will also be able to play interesting games, "added chief coach of the Székelys football team.
