Artsakh ready for ConiFA European Championship. Narine Aghabalyan
STEPANAKERT, MAY 29, ARTSAKHPRESS: Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh Narine Aghabalyan told "Artsakhpress”.
"I am convinced that today’s meeting with the president of Artsakh will encourage members of the Artsakh football team to participate in the championship with dignity," the minister said.The Artsakh team will compete in all four stadiums. The opening ceremony of the ConiFA Championship will take place at Stepan Shahumyan Republican Stadium of Stepanakert on June 1, at 20:00. The entrance is free.
I am sure that we will be able to provide a festive mood for everybody.
The championship will greatly promote the development of football, the recognition of Artsakh and our country's empowerment. As this championship is a precedent for us, we have prepared at the highest level as far as possible. It will also be a unique experience for us to organize similar events in the future, "said the minister.
Touching upon the financial means of the championship, Aghabalyan noted that they are being implemented with the support of the state budget and sponsors . Among the sponsors, Mrs. Aghabalyan particularly highlighted the Armenian-American benefactor Albert Boyajyan, who has provided $ 1 million for the reconstruction of four stadiums in Artsakh.
The minister also noted that they are continuously receiving aid.
In response to the question how Azerbaijan reacts to holding ConiFA Championship in Artsakh, Aghabalyan replied: "I am supporter of not linking our initiatives with Azerbaijan's reaction. During these years, we have never stopped, and we have not thought about Azerbaijan's reaction.
We do our best to make peace more sustainable,develop culture, sports and very often perform peace initiatives. Even if there are any negative reactions from Azerbaijan, it only speaks about their intolerance. "
