The Second Zhengyalov Hats Festival was held in Haterk, Artsakh Republic (Photos)

At the initiative of Samvel Mirzakhanyan , the head of Ecotourism initiative group in Artsakh and with the support of Artsakh’s ministry of culture, youth affairs and tourism and the administration of the Martekart region, the second zhengyalov hats festival (the grain flat cake with greens) was held in the Haterk community of Martakert region.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 11,  ARTSAKHPRESS:  The festival was accompanied by live music, where singers from Armenia and Artsakh performed, as well as various games and competitions were organized.
“There were more than 100 pavilions. The visitors had an opportunity to watch the whole process of making the bread. Other national dishes were also made.
"The aim of the event is to promote the intangible cultural heritage, the activation of community life, the development of ecotourism, and also the promotion of tourism," noted Samvel Mirzakhanyan.

Mirzakhanyan added that as compared to last year, this year's festival program was more interesting and informative.

The world’s largest zhengyalov hats was baked at this year’s festival. The record breaking bread was more than 3 meters long. Head of Martakert regional administration Edgar Harutyunyan, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh Zhirayr Mirzoyan, state officials, tourists, guests, villagers and others attended the event.
