Mali's Prime Minister Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga and his entire government have submitted their resignations to the president of the country Ibrahim Boubacar Keita who accepted them, news.com.ua reported.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 19, ARTSAKHPRESS: "By letter dated April 18, 2019, Prime Minister Mr Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga presented to the President of the Republic his resignation and that of the members of the Government, in accordance with article 38 of the Constitution," President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita tweeted.

Article 38 of the Constitution of Mali assumes that the president of the country must accept the resignation in the event of the departure of the prime minister and his government, and also appoint a new prime minister and members of the government.

It is reported that the President accepted the resignation of the Prime Minister and thanked him and members of the government for the work done. According to the statement, the name of the country's new prime minister will be announced shortly after consulting with representatives of all political forces.

The resignation of the government took place several weeks after the death of at least 134 people as a result of an attack in the country.
